Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6 pf
ISO 640, 1/1,000s, F6.3 This is a quick turnaround from yesterdays post of the same bird. I'll be away for Father's Day weekend with my son and family in Boston. Although the Blackpoll Warbler is found in spruce tree habitat on it's nesting grounds, in this case he landed in one of the small deciduous trees that grew among the pines. I'm including this one as it clearly shows the whole bird, including it's yellow/orange legs. To my eye the Blackpoll looks like a combination of a Black and White Warbler and a Black Capped Chickadee. The few times I've encountered a Blackpoll, for a moment I'm not sure what I'm looking at due to the similarities but the feet are an instant ID. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.
