I previously posted a photo of least terns exchanging fish as part of their mating ritual. The male continues to bring fish for his partner as they move on to build the nest. This is assumed to an activity to strengthen the bond between the mated pair.
I woke up at 3 and drove for about 90 minutes to get to the beach before the sunrise. It was all worth it because terns were already active and bringing in fish for their mate. I was able to shoot this photo with the sun just above the horizon, creating sparkles in the waves. Sony a1 | Sony 600mm f/4 GM + 1.4x TC | Minor crop and processing.
