In the Ecuadorian rainforest along a muddy trail at about 10,000 feet elevation. We remained quiet and took photo's from as far away as we could. The Nightjar never acknowledged us or opened his eyes; just continued to snooze as is his habit during daylight hours. Really felt lucky to see this nocturnal bird in its natural habitat.
