Wood Duck Female flying across a patch off winter Dogwood.
I sat for a hour or so just to get a shot of something flying in front of them..
Hope you like it.

Patience doesn't always work, but it did here. Very nice

Impressive background and flight shot. Hard to beat r.o.d. as a background.

Nice background makes the duck pop. Great shooting angle and detail.

The wine colored background is really unique, and it sets off this lady beautifully. Excellent image, Dan.

Dan, Can't put my finger on it, but it looks to me sort of like a photo in the digital art section?

Gene, I am not sure what you mean? This is completely natural. The Dogwood is on the edge of the pond
and this is shot as the duck flew by from a footbridge. The color is natural, I used NR on the background
and that is it....I can post the RAW if anyone cares.

Dan, Of course I know that you would never doctor an image in any way.  Why would you.  You are too talented to ever do that.  My comment was not intended to insult in any way possible.  It's just a feeling that I get when looking at the image and I have no real reason why.  Very sorry if you took it any other way.

The reddish background really sets off this beautiful bird. It is very unusual-such a rich velvety softness. Kudos to you for waiting for the perfect moment to get this shot. It is outstanding!

Thank you very much for the Editor Pick.
I very much appreciate it.
At Gene Gwin, no problem, I just misunderstood your comment.
Thanks again.

Stunning! Well done for having the vision to do this in the first place - and the patience to wait for the moment! Of course it goes without saying.........that you have the expertise to get such an amazing result, Dan. I Love it!
