Interesting how the nictitating membrane is drawn over both eyes. I wonder if it was protective or just coincidence. Gutsy Lapwing!

Hi Ron,
The lapwings just don't like the presence of the raptor in the vicinity. Around 4 individuals were attacking the eagle for almost 15minutes. Also this being the breeding season for the lapwings, they become extra aggressive :-)

Lapwings are so brave with their attack behaviour and their broken wing immitation to draw predators away from their nesting sites. Great capture, Clement!
