Here is another shot taken recently similar I posted earlier. In this capture owl was looking down with a sideway look. Sometime I prefer these shots than straight in to your eyes look.
D2Hs, 200-500mm f/5.6
1/15, ISO-1600, handheld, VR-ON @500mm

Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you.

NOTE: I edited the file and removed the white owl's poop. It was not      very popular :-).

Beautiful shot, Ludo. Nice pose details and the background is really nice.

I agree about views of the owl looking away from the photographer. Sometimes they do work better. This is a great back pose with the best detail in this series. Might consider cloning out or burning down the white at the bottom. Another handsome owl image, Ludo.

the side looks great and the catch light in the eye is a plus, superb MAKO.

A great pose and wonderful expression in the sideways eye.. Lovely detail - and a poop for luck, what more could you want, Ludo!

What a look! Love seeing the plumage on it's back- a lovely view. Kind of agree with Ron about toning down the "white", but Carol has a point! ;). It's what happens.
