Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas September 11, 2017.

Nikon D10, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/800 sec at f/8.0, ISO 250.

Caracaras throwing their head back is a typical behavior.  Generally they do this when they're especially proud of something they just did.  Usually at the expense of another Caracara.

I have always liked this Caracara pose! Very nice setting also. The sun looks a bit high but the image works well. Nice capture Gene
