I managed to visit the Brecon Beacons back in June, it’s a place I have longed to visit for ages. The main purpose of my mini holiday was to get some shots of waterfalls that are abundant in this area, but I also noticed that there was a Red Kite feeding station close to our B&B. After reading some info on how to take BIF shots, I decided to try out the back focus method when I visited the station. Since this was my first foray into BIF I clicked away with bated breath hoping to get some decent shots. I didn’t even look at the images in camera, I waited till I got home to check them out. When looking at them I was pleasantly surprised, I had more keepers than I thought possible. Though not up to the standard of  most people on this site, I was very happy with the ones I managed to get.

Love all your Landscape shots and it is great to see a bird photo of yours, and I like a lot. I would just crop it a bit in order to get the subject out of the center of the frame to help for the composition. Thanks for sharing it Peter!

Great that you have decided to get into bird photography. Given that this is your first time, this image is a very good effort. I
like the intense stare and pose of the kite, the merging tones in the background also look very appealing. I would definitely
crop and get the bird off center. Nice write-up and thinking process.
