Turkey Vulture Cathartes aura

After Sheri and I returned from our cruise to the Bahamas we had a little time before the flight home. We went to Merritt Island NWR and found this extremely cooperative TV sitting on this post. When I first saw him I thought it was a cormorant. I'm really surprised since it didn't seem to mind my close approach.

The feathering pattern, texture and color is excellent.

Nice to see you back Bill, hope you both had a wonderful time. :) This is one beefy looking bird - not one to argue with! Great feather detail and a face only another TV could love! 8) 8)
