I’m relatively new to photography so *any* comments/suggestions are more than welcome.

This pic was shot with a cheap lens and there is a bit of chromatic abrasion (flare?) around the edges of the rocks (light/dark border).

This is nice, great comp with the lion peaking above the rocks. I might try and make it pop a little more in ps, just my 2 pennys!

Cool shot! I like subtle photos like this one. The rocks in the background form an interesting pattern that blends well with the foreground.

If the grass and branches were not in the image it would consist of just two elements- rock and lion. That would be more effective IMO. However, they certainly blend in well so they're not overly distracting. Maybe a touch more USM also.

Welcome to NSN and the Wildlife forum. Nice habitat shot. I like the placement of the lion in the frame. A little work in PS levels and a bit more USM would make it stand out even more. I look forward to seeing more of your work here.

I like this shot. I might be tempted to try a verical crop to eliminate a large chunk of the left side which isn't adding much to the pic.

Welcome to wildlife. I like this one also. Compositionally very strong. Could use a titch more selective USM on the subject.. Can't wait to see more..

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I’ll try adding some more (selective) USM. Same for curves/saturation, though I’m still having problems using curves effectively. As for a vertical crop, that an interesting idea. I’ll try that as well.

BTW shortly after I took this shot the lion got up and walked right past (max 1 meter) my car. As it walked past my open window it paused and had a good glare at me. I did not get any photos of that

Thanks again.
