Well, since Woody beat me to posting my Mature Juvenile Emperor, I had to scrounge around for another posting for today!

This is a mature pgymy sea horse in a gorgonian fan coral. As you can see, he blends in very well and it took both Woody and I a good few minutes before we could find him. The seahorse and the coral are about the thickness of the lead core a No.2 pencil...he's about 7mm long.

Unbelievable how small they are.. The way they blend in is incredible. Thanks for posting STu. Excellent as usual. Happy Holidays.

Great shot Stu. Amazing how much they look like the coral. Well done, I always enjoy seeing your UW images.

Nicely done - and what great vision to see it! Even knowing what to see, it took the tail wrapped around the coral to give it away!

Thanks folks! This was a hard shot to get and a lot of help from fellow list member Woody Mayhew as he helped me find the critter by wiggling his finger behind the animal....I had to look for the movement through the viewfinder before I could see the little guy. It didnt' help once again that our dive computers were beeping decompression warnings at us! =)

Glad you enjoy our underwater images!

Wow, that incredible camo! Your shots are great- I can't imagine how much more challenging photography must be under water.
