Another shot from Jasper with borrowed gear - Cheryl's Canon 10D, and probably her 500 mm lens too. Getting to sample lots of gear was probably the most expensive part of the trip in the long run...

All critiques and reposts appreciated!

Kelly this is a terrific shot. I love the eye shine, with the direct look into the camera, and the slight head turn with the wonderful blue background. It really doesnt get any better IMHO.. Thanks for posting here. Happy Holidays.

Looks nice -- even better cropped as a head shot.

hey Kelly,

She looks just a little uncomfortable in the frame for me. Like the image needs either more or less room. Exposure, sharpness, and DOF are right on.

Cheers

Pin sharp, great BG. I'm not sure about the head angle and the FG.

Love the expression and the detail tho, overall a great shot :)

Lovely detail and close up here Kelly, the only thing that doesn't work for me is the FG rock - I prefer that cropped out for a close up head shot. Still that's just my view, which isn't worth much

Very nice shot Kelly. I remember working this one as well. She was quite cooperative. We had onnly to wait for her to open her eyes. Exposure looks great. I too prefer to have more of the FG rock cropped out.

Very nice. A crop where the foreground rock meets the sky in the lower right corner strengthen's the photo significantly in my opinion.

Kelly,

Really nice shot. I like the crop suggestions, but very nice as is.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I print this just after posting and before the cropping suggestions poured in, with a slight crop about as E.J. suggested.

But you all also inspired me to go a bit more radical. I'm not sure if this is an improvement, or if it looks like a decapitated sheep against a blue background.

What do you think?

For me the second crop works best Kelly - but I love head shots, up close and personal!! - and you have the really sharp detail to carry this off. 8)

Wow, I love this shot.

I think E.J. has the best crop suggestion.
