Black-tailed Prairie Dog
Wichita Mountain NWR, OK

This was not one of the sentinel prairie dogs calling but a mama trying to make herself heard. Unfortunately shot at high noon on a sunny day but just too perfect for this weeks motif.

Reminds me of the opera for some strange reason... maybe its all that jaw action. This is a perfect motif shot... Thanks for posting..

ROFL! Gives a new perspective on the phrase "it ain't over 'til the fat lady singe!" Judging by the dirt on the paws, she's a working woman (or prairie dog)!
