Shot in July at Elk Island National Park. Now I've seen lots of female and juvenile moose there, but this is the only identifiable male I've seen there, and he's clearly not full grown (or his antlers would be much larger by July, I'd think). I got this one from the boardwak at Astotin Lake--I was there to get the nesting Red-Necked Grebes. I was a bit suprised as I came around the corner and saw this guy lying there! From a distance, I didn't realize at first that those were mini-antlers; they're the same size as his ears. Only through 500mm of glass could I see what they really were.
