Snacking Oxpeckers

This impala was one of the estimated 13,000 at the Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. I think the ranger said they should have around 3,000 impala so they are "slightly" overpopulated!

This was taken from a hide behind the camp. Canon 10D 300@300
In the RAW file you can see all of ticks the birds are after and you can also see the oxpecker feet/claws digging into the back of the impala.

Looks wonderful. Wish the web size could show the oxpecker's feet in the impala - although I'm willing to leave the ticks to the imagination! Very nicely exposed in what looks close to mid-day light. Only suggestion would be to crop or clone out the bit of the reflected head.

Cool image. Good exposure on the impala. The incoming oxpecker is great. I would consider cropping the bottom to just above the head reflection and cloning out the rest of the log.
