Central Texas Buck

This guy was spending the first day of hunting season cooling his heals in the middle of the afternoon in my neighborhood.

I was checking out a window mount and found him on the other side of a white fence. I wound up hand holding the camera for this one.

The light was terrible and this isn't quite as sharp as I'd like.

10D, 100-400IS + 1.4II TC, ISO 400, manual focus & exposure 1/320 @ f/8.

I combined a Linear and Normal conversion from BB in PS along with level and curves and FM Intellisharpen.

Nice animal. You caught a nice pose but I think it needs a little more room on the top and a bit more saturation.

First day of hunting season? I hope you were looking all around when you captured this one. Nice buck, nice pose, I would prefer a bit more room on top.
