I shot this lngnose hawkfish, Oxycirrhites typus in the Philpiines in 1999. They are trerritorial and like to hang out in seafans, often in pairs. I found this one for three years in the same fan. They make nice photo subjects because they are curious and will come out to see what the diver is doing if the diver stays still. Also, who could not love a plaid fish? About three inches long.
Nikon F4, Nexus F4 Pro housing, AF 105 Mcicro Nikkor with manual focus, two YS-350 Pro Sea and Sea strobes, f22 @ 1/125th, scanned Fuji Velvia slide shot at ISO 40. |
