In the birds forum, somebody noted that one could not see the eyes in one of my shots. So there!

Nice close up Joe and good light in both eyes. I am wondering about a vertical here? Anyway, love the marine mammals.. Thanks for sharing.

Certainly got eyes here!! :D

Looks a touch dark on my PC so I would lighten it a tiny bit and I agree with Dennis on a vertical to give this shot the most impact. Really cute subject! 8) 8) 8) :)

The oversized eyes of marine some mammals are always amazing. And you can almost get lost in these eyes! Very cute too.

Regarding the framing, the link is to a full frame shot that I posted to a page available to the folks at the rehab center. I don't crop those shots. So, I acknowledge the comments about the deficiencies. It looks dark on my monitor at work, but okay on my flat panel at home. I don't know what the solution to this is.

Seals take some pleasing doe-eyed photographs. Whenever I hear somebody say how adorable/cute they are, I feel compelled to say that they are wild animals that react to humans as threats. Their nearest land-dwelling relative is the bear and they have the teeth to prove it. If you see a seal on the beach, do not approach it. Resist the urge to cuddle it. It will try to get away from you. However, they can't move quickly on land. If it can't get away from you, make no mistake, it will bite you. Caretakers at the rehab center wear steel-mesh gloves when handling them.

I'm not sure why some people are unable to see the image, when others can.
