Out on an early morning game drive I noticed this cat hunting in the open and seeking out puddles left from the previous nights rain. Initially we were quite a distance away from this cat, but looking further up track I saw an intersecting road about 500 meters away and asked the driver to reposition the vehicle in hopes of getting closer. After a brief wait the cat walked right in front of us.

A lovely sighting of this beautiful and agile cat Chuck! It is rewarding when a plan comes together.

Always special to see these in daylight and out in the open, doesn't happen often.
Good side-on pose captured here and I think you did as well with the light angle as you could.

Any open sighting of a Caracal is to be commended and it's no surprise that this was in the crater, where they are more accustomed to vehicles, love the mauve flower scene as well Chuck.
