Humpback Whale
Monterey Bay, California
D500, 500mm f/5.6 pf, ISO1000, 1/2500, f/7.1

Some very active feeding last week in Monterey Bay, we were lucky to have several vertical lunges in rather quick succession. The Western Gulls were there to take advantage of the "spilled" anchovies.

Wonderful feeding behavior, Cindy. The splashing water and gulls emphasize the action. A must see in large view.

This must be amazing to see, Cindy! I always wonder if any of the gulls ever get scooped up with this frenzy going on, and you've caught the feeding behaviour very nicely here.

Brilliant timing and action caught here Cindy! Superb feeding behaviour. (oft neglected, but the gulls add too)

Very cool behavior shot- the splashes and gull make this one work well for me.
