Taken on a recent photo excursion with Carl Donahue, which was a blast. Thanks for the expert guiding Carl! Good weather, lots of bears and even a few good photos.

This first year cub had lost its energy to do much of anything but rest on this rock in the middle of a river.

Tim,

This is very cute. I love the look on his face! :) I have felt like that fishing before. :D

Carl is a good guide and a blast to shoot with. Glad you were able to join him.

He's just waiting for someone to bring him a fish  He hasn't caught one but you got a good one!!! I would like to see this with a bit off the bottom and the white area at the top darkened! Nice detail!!!

Hey Tim,

Cool picture .. What a great opportunity this little fella gave us! We sure did have a good trip . as you said, all the right ingredients .. great bears, weather/light and wonderful company .. I enjoyed it as much as you did!

I like this shot, but it looks like it needs some more P/S work to me .. it's a bit flat, and there's an odd cast .. maybe a green? See if the file I emailed you is any better?

Thanks for the kind words (to Les, a great guide and wonderful man, as well!). That was one of the best photography trips I've been on man .. here's to many more!

Cheers

Carl

Wonderful composition and great pose you captured here Tim! This must be just begging for captions!!

I agree the white area at the top could go a little darker and the subject could be a little warmer with saturation/contrast, but I love the shot! 8) 8) 8) :)

Tim,

The bear pose is terrific, but I'd second Eleanor's suggestions on the cropping and darkening the white patch.

Wonderful image with great expression and subject pose but I feel it would be stronger with less of the OOF foreground and losing the white top somehow.

This is terrific Tim. Just love the pose and the bear looks pin sharp.. I guess when I first looked at it I agreed with John, a little off of the bottom, to the top of the oof water maybe, then a little PS to darken the lighter area in the background or clone from the top right to just get rid of the white area, keeping it even. Looking at the rock, I suspect there may be a slight cyan shift but you can check this in PS. These are all minor nits on a very successful image IMHO...good work TG

A nice and relaxed shot that is very well done. Perhaps shooting slightly higher would eliminate the white at the very top and de-emphasize the OOF at the very bottom.

Can't add anything to the comments already made, but smashing shot nonetheless. Love the pose and the look he's giving you.

I was so entranced by the cute pose and expression that I did not even notice the nits mentioned until I read them. Great shot!
