Great shot--the wolf looks very relaxed to me. More like a domestic dog than a wild animal.

Nicely composed image with the BG rocks and the lichen. Beautiful coat on the subject and this reminds me of a scene from 'Lassie Come Home'.

Sweet light finishes off this fine shot. 8) 8) 8) :)

EJ - nice shot - he looks a little "plump" to me. Do wild wolves ever get heavy like this one appears to be?

EJ,

very nice image; as well as the Bobcat, Black Bear Cub and the Cougar. Where have you shot them in the Sierra Nevada Foothills?

Regards

Bernd

My recent captive animal posts were shot at a Triple D Wildlife Ranch location shoot outside of Mariposa California last April. I will also go to one more of these shoots - one in April in the red rock country of southern Utah. While its not the same as finding and shooting these animals in teh wild, it does provide oportunity to shoot species you might never even see and it allows you to hone your skills.

This is a beautiful setting for the wolf. I like the line of the rock he's standing on. He looks like his attention is quite fixed on something.

Well done EJ. It is nice that the wolf was still wearing his winter coat for this shoot.

I think it is actually a she, Lace, which from Rick (animal handler) is one of the best working wolves they have ever had. Another fantastic photo EJ.
