I like the framing. The grass is wonderful- great texture and color.

Its looks a bit oversharpened around the antlers and face.

Robert, I like this one alot. The placement of the deer is perfect, and the over-the-shoulder look really makes it. The seed heads in the field give an excellent texture. Very nice.

I like the textures and colors of the background. Did you capture any shots with the head turned slightly so that the antlers didn't merge together?

I like this the best of your series of bucks so far. That field of grasses is a beautiful setting and in this case I like the fact you didn't include sky. Great over-the-shoulder look. Very, very nice!

Robert,

This is a beautiful shot. I can see this as a poster with some inspirational words in the negative space. The over the shoulder look is very nice and I love the field colors.

Excellent. The muted green colors really accent the deer. And the way the texture of the grass near the deer transforms to the blur farther away is great. As I said, an excellent shot.

Robert, Great job! You're going to have to change your name from "Tree-Man" to "Deer-Man." Really nice warm glow to this one.

This is my favorite of your buck shots as well. I love the color, the light, and especially your composition which IMHO made the most of a terrific scene.

Hey Robert,

nice image .. lovely llight and a nice subject. I think you have it too tight on the bottom of the frame. I think what some folks say is over sharpening is simply backlit grass/flowers. Normally I'm not a fan of 'deer in the field' shots .. this one works well. Also, with the light on his nose creating quite a glare, perhaps some fill may have worked (keep it WAY off the film plane) to put a catchlight in his eye, and balance that.

I'm looking forward to shooting some of these boys this fall/winter myself .. Can't wait!

Cheers

Carl
