2nd extra sharpening--hopefully not too much.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

I felt lucky that as soon as I entered the park I saw this Meerkat posing in decent light. No doubt it's master of its domain. Now I've got to find and photograph a wild one in the Kalahari Desert.

Wherever there are Meerkats there will always be one on watch! Nice shot of one of my favourite small mammals Steve. 8) 8) 8) :)

Cute critter with nice pose, balance and exposure. As a personal preference, I'd like the eyes highlighted just a touch more.

Nice one Steve. I like the clean green background, nice pose and the look right into the camera. Personal preference for me would be one more jolt of usm.. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Dennis. I've noticed that these aren't as sharp after I post them. I'll remember going forward. I'm always afraid I'll oversharpen.

Nice one Steve! I like the second one better. Agree that oversharpening can totally ruin an image. Sometimes when they have a lot of body hair or if the point of perfect focus is not on the head you can use the memory brush in CS to fix. Vary the opacity on the top to put the most sharpening on the head and eye then back off for other areas where hair or feather detail could make it look a little over... Good work and thanks for participating...

Scuttlebut (which of course you know) is that the MKII might require a little more sharpening because of the aa filter..

Great to see an animal I'm familiar with. Can't tell you how many times I've stopped to watch and shoot these guys before walking over to the lagoon to shoot birds at the WAP. Tough bgs there and the light is usually mixed, you did a good job with both. Thanks for posting.
