Robert, What a bruiser! I wish the light were coming from the other direction, or that he were facing the other way, so more of his body was lit, but I doubt that he would have paid much attention to your instructions. Good job!

Robert,
Nice buck coming out of velvet. I agree with kelly about the light and the position of the deer. I also think he should be more to the right of the picture so he is walking into instead of out of the picture. Still a nice shot of a good looking buck.
Is that a 2x3 or a 3x3?

I really like the effect of the angle you have, with just the little bit of grass and the sky behind. I agree on the lighting comments. I'm torn on the placement of the buck in the frame. I tend to agree with Jason's suggestion, although with his backward look it's not as strong of a suggestion as if he was looking where he was pointed.
It'll be very cool to see the bigger ones in this setting! Looking forward to it.

I take it that you were shooting up a hill, and I love that type of perspective near the ground.
Very nice!!! :)

Looks like he is well fed Robert! I would wish for more light and detail in the near side of the deer but you take what you can get and they don't come to order do they!
