CJW, here is a photo to give you an idea of what a female and male Collared lizard looks like. Some males will also get the red streaks under the front arms which really add to the already vibrant colors. Both have some great colors and are favs of mine to photograph but the male gets most of my attention. The compression was very low on this so detail lacks a bit.

Thanks for looking

A little soft as the main POF seems to be in the FG of the subjects, but a good record shot of the difference between the two Lizards. Thanks for posting! 8) 8) 8) :)

Thanks all. Carol, the front lizard is sharp but the back one is a bit soft. After shooting these lizards for three years now it is the only decent image I have of a pair. You are right though good eye!

This one calls for f/22 :) Actually at this reproduction size the DOF is OK. These lizards are beautiful. I'll bet you wish you had the whole tail of the back one.

That is one cool looking rock. Love the rusty colours and the lighter lichen. Lizards are a nice touch too

This pair is just beautiful! I will have to see if I can find a male - they are very colorful.

Good on you capturing both of them like this.

Thanks for sharing this.
