We were photographing ten month old cubs in Bandhavgarh, when we heard the tigress calling her cubs. It was a magical experience to hear her calling (a deep 'auungh') and to see her emerge. The cubs
rushed to her and there was a lot of nuzzling and comforting. In this image she is resting, whilst the cubs imaptiently wait to be led to a kill. She soon got up and led them away. The white spots on the ears are belived to help the cubs follow their mother and themselves when moving through thick undergrowth. Thanks for looking. Comments and critiques welcome. Last post for a week as I am off to Kipling country to-morrow. Apana |
