I was driving down a (forest surrounded) gravel road (Tillamook County, Oregon) just before sunrise, in search of Red-tailed Hawks, when I spotted this Pacific Northwest Roosevelt elk peeking out from the (non-native) Scotch Broom underbrush. Nothing too special here, but it does demonstrate how well the 600mm Nikkor performs wide open in low-light situations. D2H, 1/320 @ f4, 500ISO, beanbag on top of car.
Ron Green shoots birds just for the fun of it!
