I don't think that I have posted this pup portrait here before..if so please forgive me. It fit the motif so well, that I thought I should post it...

So, this is about an 8 week old pup, taken last May in South Africa. The alpha female had 7 pups and they were great fun to shoot. By the last day of the safari they were practically climbing in the Land Rover with us.

Looks like he was just out playing and rolling around with all the peices of leaves and twigs on em. Nice comp. The little dark patch on its chest almost looks like a colar tag..

This pup appears to have had a hard life in those 8 weeks. I think the portrait is interesting; it makes me study the face. Also think it is a little soft and the light is harsh. I don't mind the light as that adds to the overall feel of the harsh life pup that I see in the image.

Beautiful background and nice colors overall. I really like the perky ears. Very nice environmental shot.

You were so fortunate to see these precious pups. How wonderful to spend time with them like that. The low point of view is very intimate and those ears and the expression are priceless. Looks just a bit soft to me, not sure if USM can help? Anyway I would be very happy to have this image!!

What a wonderful experience getting to see the Wild Dogs and pups. I love the pose and the expression. Just a tad soft but I would love to have this one in my files. Thanks for sharing.

Great to see Wild Dogs Jeff, you were lucky to have that experience. Nice shot of this youngster, a shame its not sharper in the face-a little more DOF would have been nice. 8)
