Asian Short Clawed Otter
Captive
EOS300D, Sigma 100-300 F4 + 1.4TC, ISO 400, 1/800 @ F8 -1, 550EX + BB -1

Otters will always be one of my all time favourite small animals. I think they are beautiful, captivating and highly intelligent. We had the opportunity to photograph this male and his mate at the weekend, and both Dave and I could have stayed there for hours!!

All comments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

As one who has had ferrets, I have an urge to rub this otter behind the ears. It's very cute. :) Beautiful portrait.

WOW is this wonderful. The narrow DOF really really really works well here! I love it when a photographer doesn't oversharpen whiskers. Really excellent work. Forgot to mention that the composition is perfect as well. :D
