With all of the beautiful tigers this week, I was reluctant to post this image. However, those of you that have been to Triple D can appreciate just how close this is and the conditions. This was just before we were asked to stand up to make sure the little lady knew were not on the menu. I also don't really like having their tongue out, but given the story that goes with it, well I could not resist the post... :-) I hope the blown out snow isn't too distracting...

Taken at Triple D with Scott Bourne's OMSP workshop.

Nikon D100, 80-400VR @ 280mm!, handheld, 1/1250 F5.6

Cheers,

Nice shot Jeff with great eye contact. I'll bet you were standing up quickly-especially with her licking her chops like that. I did not notice the blown out snow as all my attention was on the tiger. Thanks for posting to the motif.

This is wonderful. I like the blown out snow- nice plain bg, but detail in the snow she's sitting on. Love the snow sticking to the coat, the eye contact, and even that tongue sticking out!

This is outstanding. I think it might even be better with a little less ambient exposure and then some flash to fill in the Tiger.

Whoa, WAY to close dude

Great shot, but a little fill would have helped.

I'm thinking you looked quite appetizing to this tiger! Great attitude capture!

The image seems a bit on the overly contrasty side to me, but it gains some impact from that, so I don't know whether I'd change it.
