This guy was feeding on willows in between afternoon naps. Caught this shot from the edge of a forest. photographed in Colorado with a 500mm+1.4tc on Provia. All comments/critques greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Great shot. The head turn is really nice giving a sharp eye and great catchlight. I'd crop just a tad off the bottom and lighten the FG dark brush that remains a little.

Very nice photograph and excellent subject. I agree with Steve that a little off the bottom wouldnt hurt but nice as is... Very sharp..

Very nice shot Dave, I love the way you've caught him with his head turned into the picture! 8) 8) :)

I like it as is, although the FG bush is a little distracting. Don't crop off too much or you'll chop off his virtual feet  :)

Nice shot, better with foreground cut out though, like everybody else says its a little distracting.

Nice candid shot showing a bit of behavior.

At first blush, the "crop the bottom" suggestion seems sound, but I tried a little "screen cropping" and found I didn't like the image as much with more than just a little bit cut off. So I vote "keep it as is". :)

I am with the 'crop the bottom' crowd. I love the animal though. The head turn is great and the catchlight in the eye really livens the image up. Thanks for sharing.

Nice overall image. I agree with the suggested crop and I also might have waited a bit 'til he lifted his head.
