European Grey Wolf
Captive
EOS300D, 500F4L IS, 1.4xTCII, iso 200, ev-2/3, 1/400, f5.6, 550EX +BB @ -2, Monopod

Whilst at the wolf enclosure at the weekend the Alpha male had been eating lunch (posted in the Euro forum ). Something grabbed his attention and he turned away from me. He stayed like that for a few minutes. I wasn't going to take this shot, but somehow I sort of like it.

What y'all think ??

I like it. It makes you wonder what he is watching.

I agree Dave. I l ike shots like this. I think Steve posted a big horn looking over a lake shot like this. It makes you feel like you are another member of the pack (or the herd for the big horn) and has a certain type of intimacy so provided. Not the classic pose, but they are very interesting shots. Thanks for sharing your perspective..

Funny shot! This is what my cats look like when I'm talking to them...

The subject looks a tad over-sharpened which takes away some of the softness to the look of the fur. The background has a nice fall feel to it.

Nice background colors. It does make you wonder what's going through that head...

I have a very similar shot of a nice Dall sheep ram. But I released the shutter with the sole purpose of getting the ram to turn its head and it worked quite nicely! Of course one look at the cyclops that had snuck up on him and he was GONE.
