The Leitch Collery is located in the Crowsnest Pass in southern Alberta.

I posted this elsewhere, but it seems to fit the motif this week... Technicals forgotten. The film was probably Provia (but may be Sensia). The camera with the Velvia that I had intended to use only had built in timing up to 1 sec, and as I was setting up my cable release malfunctioned, so I switched to the other camera which could time up to 30 sec. This was somewhere from 10-30 sec. The lens was either a 50mm or a 28-80.

This is the structure that used to be at the end of a row of coking ovens. It is not distorted byt he lens--it really was that shape.

I took this back on May 18 (I think), but there was a nasty snowstorm. It was just starting when I was out shooting, but by morning there was a good six inches on my tent!

Reminds me of Monty Pythons famous line "and now for something completely different". Great shot! Good capture of light and texture from the snow. The shapes are interesting and lead the eye across the image.

Great image. I would crop a bit from the right as there is nothing there but blackness.
Was someone holding a flashlight as the light source?

No, the light you see is a lamppost that's at the site. I don't know if my imagination is inserting it, but I think I can see the post in the picture.

The collery is a provincial historic site, and there are paths, interpretive signs, and most importantly, lights. After driving by one night, I knew I had to come back at night with a camera! I have a few other views of other ruins on the sight all lit up.

Looks like something straight out of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Very, very spooky!

Cool shot, great vision...and snow as well :)

Oh yes, there is the faintest hint of a lamppost.
