Simi Fire in the beginning with some of the developments showing in the foreground. I thought it might be interesting to show the contrast of the development and the location of the fires. This is early on, not after the major destruction . I did not use a polarizer but there is a banding effect from the curved window of my friend's Cesna Cardinal RG.

Other than the two tone caused by the window this is a nice shot.

Ken,
There was no way the pilot was going to turn around for a second pass.
We were sort of past the easy shot and I was turning around in the seat, so the curve of the window fell as it was.

Good clear aerial shot! The colors are beautiful and the subject is very interesting. It is sad to see the fires as they are in progress. Very well done!

Great shot as I see it! Fascinating the way the housing development fits inside the ridges and the smoke stacks show off in the distance. This also tells a huge story in one photo.
