Is anyone doing all their editing and color work solely on their laptop?  I have a MacBook Pro (15") with retina display and was wondering if one can get as good a result as with a good monitor.  Another question I have is how does one go about calibrating the laptop display?  I have the MDSVSENSOR3 that came with my NEC monitor but the software doesn't work with the laptop display.

Any guidance and help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Ken

There are many that only use a laptop. Personally I find it a bit limiting due to the small display but I do some editing on the road on an even smaller screen. Any of the Xrite or others products can calibrate a laptop screen well. I personally use the Spyder 5 Elite to calibrate laptops and even non IOS/Android based tablets like the Surface Pro.

Thanks EJ. Spend a lot of time away from the house so looking for options to not drag along a monitor.

Hi,

I do all of my editing on my laptop and use the images online, to print myself and to print from labs. All of this with no problems.

Actually, I've only edited on laptops for probably 15 plus years.

Have Fun,
Jeff
