I am thinking of buying this card reader for my XQD cards that I use on my Nikon D 500. I am trying to determine if it comes with a USB cable, and if so, which specific cable is it?

Is the card reader end a USB 3.0 micro B, like what is found on most USB 3.0 portable external hard drives? If yes, then the cable needed (and supplied?) could be a USB 3.0 Type-A male to USB 3.0 Micro-B male cable.

If the connector on the reader end is a USB 3.0 type A male, then the cable needed (and supplied?) would be a USB 3.0 extension cable, USB 3.0 Type A Male to Female Extension Cable.

Any help form anyone who has this card reader would be appreciated. The vendor web sites and Sony do not provide the info.

Why not download the cards (slot 1 & 2) by plugging the camera into the computer and use View NX2. This is how I do it and have experienced NO problem. But I don't know whether Sony comes with a download cord and can't be used with ViewNX2. But the software that came with the camera can be used for this, why use card readers?

Cheers

You can see from one of the pictures here that it's a standard full size USB 3 connector:
