I love this image! Well done Ofer, this little bird has tons of personality with that tail up like that.

Definitely a wren with that cocked tail, but oh my what color and personality he has! Almost like a hummingbird head. Gorgeous shot.

Apart from Sydney being an amazingly attractive city filled with cool folk and great restaraunts, this species is as good a reason to go to New South Wales as any. This is a great shot of a bird that can be just a little bit too active to be funny!!!

Outstanding Ofer! It's real interesting to see a Wren species with such brilliant plumage--all the North American species are brown.

Hey Alister, we have them here and Melbourne too :)

But yeah Ofer. Omg, you've nailed it. This is one bird I want to try and nail like this. However I feel a bit pixel and lens stricted :)

Out of interest, how far away were you with a hide?
Closest I've got being in long grass is about 6M.

The only thing that could be better if this lovely male was singing :)
But still, I'd love this shot!

Hi darrylm, I was about 4M from it but you know these guys - in 10 seconds it can be anywhere from 2M-15M...

Yep certainly do. The best oportunity I had was when I was in the grass. Quite a few males (non-breeding plumage) and females, then along came a male, sat on the barbwire and sang away. Missed it as the D70 happily hunted to get focus. Anyway at 6-8m with 340MM of focal length I think it would of been a heavy crop.
Out of interest, much of a crop?

It is cropped from a horizontal - the height of the posted image is almost like in the original.
