Congratulations! This is the Flora and Macro image of the week for the week ending 5/13/05!
Image

Canon EOS 10D
Shooting Mode:Manual
Tv:1/125
Av:5.6
Metering:Evaluative
ISO:400
Lens: 24.0 - 85.0 mm w/ tubes
AF Mode: Manual Focus

Was too windy to get anything good outside so my son caught this lady bug for us to photograph under the studio lights. Had a lot of fun keeping the little guy on the flower

Critiques greatly appreciated.

I absolutely love this, but I thought maybe the blacks on Ms. Ladybug were a little much; I did a 30 sec dodge-job on PS Elements 2.0 - I'm sure with a little time you could do better - what do you think?

appears to be a little more detail in the head area -- looks better to me but I'll trust others to make a critical call...

A really wonderful and a fun composition that I just cannot imagine anyone disliking. Regarding the shadow area’s for what it worth I think I prefer the original because although I’d agree that the reposting does show more detail in the head area I feel that the shadows seem at least to me less natural. Thanks for sharing a great image that’s given me great pleasure

Regards
Matthew

This is terrific. Looks like he is hidding. The limited DOF is used very well here. Very nice work.

It is the very nice and different contrasting colors that you do not see together very often that really strikes me here! :)
Comp, color, details, .................. nice one dude!!
