The bg on this image was a total waste but did not want to trash the image. Doing some selective cloning, smoothing and lots of Gaussian Blur I came up with something semi reasonable. I think with further work in the selection and feathering process it has the potential of turning into a non garbage image. Ahhh digital!!!! :)

Comments welcome and very much appreciated

Very well done with the BG and the subject sure displayed nicely for you to capture. Those feathers are great. Can't tell if the feet were OOF or if it was part of the PS work.

Nicely done Alfred!! A little colour/contrast boost in the beak and legs would just finish this one off IMO. Certainly the effort paid off! 8) 8) 8) :)

Also nice to see some actual Nature images in the posts this week!

I think that you came with something that is a "bit more than reasonable", Alfred. This is a great show of skill in PS. I find that getting accurate selections is tough - it is without a doubt the hardest part of digital manipulation post-processing for me. You make it look easy!

Geoff try using the right tool For this one it was the magnetic lasso and it worked fine then do some feathering. Sometimes I try selecting by color and adding with the magic wand.

Basically trial and error... more error than trial
