This was taken in a small town near Rochester. I was limited because on either side of this are buildings that are not too attractive. Also the mist off the falls was so bad I had a very hard time keeping the equipment dry.

Comments appreciated.

Canon 1Ds, 24mm TS, 0.6 ND grad, F16, 0.5". 2 images stitched together after shifting. Canon Raw converted with C1, levels and curves in PS.

I like it! The wall in the foreground is great! For me, I'd rather have the top of the tree included, but that's just me.

Great shot though!

Chris I was wondering how you got the image so undistorted until I saw you were using a TS lens :) Neat toy!!!!

Great stitching work!!! If I were doing that image and could manage to keep from being drenched, would probably shoot it at different shutter speeds to see the effect on the waterfall.

I like it as presented but always like options, sure you probably did!!!!

Great stitching and presentation of this challenging site. You also had a tough range of exposure here, too. There is some peculiarities in the color of the sky around the tree. I like the flow of the stone wall. What about cropping the bottom to the bottom of the wall on the right side?

Generally well balanced and a peaceful scene. I'd like to see a bit more room above the tree, and the small piece frame of tree frame right cloned out and a bit more pop. The reduced contrast might have been caused by the mist. I dd a little tweaking if you don't mind using the dodge and burn tools to add a bit more punch. What do you think? BTW...dodginng and burning are a great way to add pop to an image by selectively adding highlights and shadows.

Harvey, I think the reduced contrast really weaken this image. I like what you did! Thanks!

And bear in mind Chris that I did this basically "by hand" selectively using two tools at different spots in the picture. Dodging and burning IMO give the author greater latitude than just a blanket change in an image with just using curves and levels. Using those two tools in selected areas adds to the dynamics of an image.

I like it .... even the waterfall looks better. This is a treat to see how small changes make such a difference!!!
