This is full frame uncropped. How would you do it?

EOS 3 w/Canon 28mm 1.8 USM; Provia 100; converted to B&W with Fred Miranda action; exposure unrecorded.

Nice image Mike I like the flowing lines of the beach and clouds. Gives it a very nice balance and then having the bridge for the horizon area. Sure have a good compositional eye!!!!!

I basically cropped to my taste, used shadow/highlight to lighten the image. Curves to boost contrast, the used three selections feathering 70 pixels (making smaller sections top) darkening each a bit more to get a smooth transition. Also a little usm.

First, a 1.3 degree CCW rotation. Cropped not as severe as Al's. I think I like a little more water underneath. I'm still not sure if this gives the right balance for the land and clouds that you captured so well. I punched up the contrast slightly in general. Then selected the bridge and punched that contrast a lot and the smudged it out to even the horizon I selected. Sharpen.

Paul I think I like your crop a little better and do love the treatment of the bridge. Significant improvement!!!!

Something I just noticed is the increase in detail I got on the trees that add to the image compared to the original and yours

I think If we keep at it Clive Butcher will be jealous  :D :D

I agree, I like the detail Al pulled out of the trees. It also adds to the echo that is here with those clouds.
