Shot last summer ('03) in Elk Island National Park. (The limit is in km/h, not mph!) Sigma 50-500. Probably on Sensia 100.

Mom is off the left side of the frame. She crossed the road first.

Obviously they can go that fast but have enough sense to look before crossing!!!!! :) :)

That is really neat Paul, I just get to see an occasional deer at ENP early morning.

Definitely not uncommon. I don't have any statistics, but from what I've seen, I'd guess that somewhere around 20-40% of moose have twins.

A nice shot overall. I'd just do some cropping to draw more attention to the calves and take away some of the dead space which doesn't really add to te overall comp.

Nice capture

I also like a crop off the bottom, brings the Elk more to the focal point of the image
....We can't go that fast...
but they can go faster in Elk Island than Jasper Park they can only go 50 there. :)

D'oh! I was about to write about how most of Jasper outside the town has higher speed limits than 50. But then I read between the lines...

Let me guess: your elk with the 50 sign was shot in Jasper. I'll guess even further. It was shot on the 93A, right near the north end...
