Congratulations! This is the Flora and Macro Forum image of the week for the week ending 12/21/07.

These yellow meadow ant sees for the first time his own mirror image.
Best regards Leon Baas.

Hello Leon,it's been a while since we saw one of your cool studio macros. So it's cool that you've posted another.
That reflection is really cool,i don't know what kind of material you've placed by the flower or whether it's the flower itself that is making the reflection.Whichever it is,the result is really good.
The colours are beautiful, the composition works very well & the lighting looks good.I wish that the light wasn't so harsh on the head of the ant,but that my only minor suggestion for this very unique looking photo.
Excellent work Leon, now post some more
John

Very nice, great mirror effect here, very nicely composed. If you put your image in [img] tags and it will appear directly rather than having to link off to a new window.

Hi Leon

I took the liberty of editing your post so that the image displays a thumbnail, and pops up directly in the posting screen. I hope you don’t mind

And a smashing shot of this little fellow as well - the colours & composition are simple delightful

Nice one indeed
Matthew

Stunning! The colors and selective DOF with the tack sharp ant and a reflection to boot is just fantastic.
