No surprise on the location for me either, definitely the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania. Where else can you see lions mating, hyenas fresh from a kill and one of my cheetahs from a recent post all in matter of a couple of hours.

Only downside, there is a bit of company. We watched these lions mate a couple of times of the course of a couple of hours, and they cooperated to give us different angles each time  . (Most vehicles would stop for a moment and then just roll along, but each time they mated, there was one or two other vehicles present.) The most amusing part of the mating ritual occured as the male was "doing his thing." A tiny little voice emanated from the vehicle next to us asking "Daddy, what's that lion doing?" It was hard not to shake with laughter as a single dad fumbled to try and explain to his two little girls what was transpiring!

I hope she didn't fall asleep in the midst of the excitement. At least you kept a discrete distance based on the amount of glass used. :D
