I've lived in the New York area for quite awhile and was never aware we had a native lizard, the 5 Lined Skink. within the same week I realized we had a native cactus...Eastern Prickly Pear......not quite a Arizona....but a little "taste".

Very cool shot! From a post processing stance I feel it would could benefit from darkening the shadows a bit more. This will help saturate the color as well IMO.

I love this -- with the skink only partially out from between the rocks. Great comp.

A very interesting and cool shot Steve! 8)
Love the comp you got with this shot and the details shown, and I have to agree that a touch of levels or curves in PS might boost the contrast a bit which would give this just a little more pop to it.

Again, .............. very cool shot!!!

Steve, I agree about the nice composition and capture of this beautiful animal. However, I also agree about the dark tones that appear just not dark enough. I could be wrong of course, but it looks as if that is a result of digital retouching rather than of the actual shot. Could that be right? Regardless, a simple darkening of the dark tones in either levels or curves would solve the matter again.

Cheers!
Arthur Sevestre
