A darter (Libellula depressa ) I captured , perched on Marsh Cinquefoil
(Potentilla palustris) ; my garden, last weekend
Canon 10D, 150 mm macro, 32 cm away from the darter (the minimal focussing distance of my lens), while lying on my belly, handheld, natural light with flash fill

This is a wonderful shot. Some of the elements in the background are a little distracting but not bad. The perch is very nice.

The delicate tracery of the wings, almost forming a tent-like structure is fascinating.

An usual approach which works well.

Hi Herman
A really pleasing image, I very much like the wing position of the subject in this shot.

Regards
Matthew
