White Tail Fawns Sunset Canyon, Central Texas

A couple of buddies that hang qround in the back yard.

The smaller of these two is one of a set of twins. The doe appears to take care of all three of the fawns. I doubt seriously that they are all three hers naturally.

I keep the 10D with the 100-400 setup by the door and when the opportunity presents itself I indulge myself.

10D, 100-400IS @ 400, ISO 800, 1/125 @ f/7.1, hand held.

Cute!! Those big ears kill me- especially when they're cocked forward like that. Great comp. Must be nice to unwind in your backyard with 3 fawns to watch. 8)

Thanks for the comments.

There are many more than three. The other night I was watching 2 does and 6 fawns. This morning there must have been 20+ deer in the back yard.

We don't feed them, but do keep a tub of fresh water in the backyard for the deer and other critters, such as: fox, coons, armadillos, various birds, etc.

Love the composition and the ears and eyelashes define cute. Wish you had a bit more DOF, but specs suggest you were pushing the limits as it stands.
