Ruddy Duck

This guy was just so full of himself. The around the front are created during the display ritual where the male will puff his chest up and bob his head rapidly up and down making a clicking noise.

Very nice. They often are "shoddy" in appearance, but yours is just a greatly decked out suitor. Cool and nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Very, very nice image of a very, very proud ruddy! They're pretty rare up here so it's nice to get such a great look at one.

Cheers!

Fantastic job of this duck "with an attitude". I've yet to see one close enough to shoot. Looks like I'm going to have to hate you for this one.

Fantastic pose. I would try a more horizontal presentation.

In an effort to get this post in before leaving for the coast, I erred. I omitted the (c) to indicate captive. This was shot in a zoo pond and I am fairly certain one of the wings may be pinned. Just in case, I apologize for the omission.
