I thought that this would fit the motif :)
This was taken in May and to get the background like this I had to transplant a flower to a cup, take the photo from the tailgate of the truck using several reflectors and diffusers to control the light and wind (it was very windy) and then replace the plant.
EOS 1Ds, 180 mm macro, ISO 200, 1/160 sec, f/11 (I couldn't go any smaller as it was too windy).
Comments welcome,

Still you handled this shot very well for a windy day, and got enough depth to make this an effective shot.
Beauty of a flower, wonderful colors, nice comp, ........... I like it!! :)

Nice! I like the DOF like this. Maybe I'll get some Pale corydais this year.

Hi Wil
There is an awful lot to like about this shot; the backgrounds a nice colour with a super graduation that really shows off the subject, I like the composition with the flower petals having a good colour and shadow detail. Overall the only minor nit I would have is that I would have preferred to have the top flower in sharper focus. The reason for this is that I think you have composed the shot in such a way that this flower along with the two flowers below creates a strong triangle within the frame and becomes the main area of attention for one eyes. Having said this I can really appreciate the problems you face with the wind, so perhaps this was not possible. Still a really pleasing image that its been my pleasure to view.

Best Regards
Matthew
